A Country That Imports Garbage?

Well. This sounds to be interesting. How many of us would like to buy garbage from outside? How would you feel if you're made to buy garbage from your neighbor? Well we'd like to sell garbage more than buy them but Sweden here has another ideas.

A statement from the country has said that it has run out of garbage and has decided to export it from other countries. Unlike other countries Sweden focuses on recycling on a much larger scale. Sweden has a system whose electricity is major derived from waste products and not fossil fuels. In fact it recycles garbage to an extent that only 1% of it goes to landfill.

Sweden has implemented a cohesive national recycling policy so that even though private companies undertake most of the business of importing and burning waste, the energy goes into a national heating network to heat homes through the extremely cold winter.

Swedish municipalities are investing in futuristic waste collection techniques, like automated vacuum systems in residential blocks, removing the need for collection transport, and underground container systems that free up road space and get rid of any smells, the report said.
