After a Nehra penultimate, the match got interesting as 8 was required in the last over. But Bumrah made sure that every thing was within arm's reach. India finally wrapped up the game with 5 runs to spare. Bumrah wrapped up the final over conceding just 2 runs and picking up an important wicket, enabling India to win the game.
After a steady start with Kohli and Rahul, India went on a tumble after Raina and Yuvraj went on for below par scores. But KL Rahul proved his worth in a must perform match along with a steady Manish Pandey to make India cross the finish line successfully, winning by a mere 5 runs.
Rahul went on to muster a courageous and hard hitting 71 of 47 balls on what seemed to be a slow and turning pitch. Manish Pandey and Rahul made a decent 4th wicket stand enabling India to post a competitive total.
England's reply came strong after Chahal's 2nd over went for 15 runs. Though a good start, England started to lose wickets continuously. Mishra's wicket of Stokes was declared a No-Ball and eventually he seemed to take the match away from India but when he was LBW'd by Nehra Indians found a tiny hope. Consequent wickets of Root and Buttler put up a glimmer of hope, but that faded away when Nehra was taken for 16 in the penultimate. But young Bumrah made sure India won the match comfortably, with 5 runs to spare.
