Actor turned politician Radha Ravi in a Public speech during DMK leader MK Stalin's birthday celebrations on March 1 made insensitive mockery on children with disabilities. Radha Ravi's speech was completely inhuman and the people listening to this crass speech were laughing.
In an attempt to mock and ridicule Politicians Ramadoss and Vaiko, Radha ravi metaphorically compared them to children with disabilities saying that they are like disabled children who want to play with "Normal Kids".
In the video, RadhaRavi, the actor-politician who re-joined DMK last week can be seen making exaggerated facial expressions to accompany his mockery of children with disabilities.
Radha Ravi's such sadistic and barbaric remarks has made activists and people belonging to the disability groups to raise slogans demanding Radha Ravi’s arrest. They held posters asking for him to apologize for his low remarks.
Activist Deepak Nathan said, "The speech by Radha Ravi is absolutely derogatory and uncalled for. This is not the first time these politicians are doing these. We are a group that's always been ridiculed.
"It is a criminal offence to make fun of the differently abled and we will be filing a FIR against Radha Ravi in Teynampet Police station. Let this be a lesson for people in future who want to make such comment," he added.
His speech not only offended the activists but also people belonging to the same party.DMK Leader Kanimozhi has meanwhile condemned in her Facebook post stating,
Radha Ravi should stop speaking about special people in this derogatory and mocking way. Kalaignar's party workers will not accept this. Having disabilities is indeed a small obstacle. But it is when you're emotionally weak that it is an even bigger obstacle. The special people are those who have broken these emotional hurdles.
