Almost every 2 out of 3 of us would have went through the engineering college phase. The rapid transition from an underdog state to one with more than good educational offerings, the educational ethics in Tamil Nadu has went quite overload. Then eventually we ended up in Engineering Colleges with the weirdest of all rules you could find. Well if you've studied in those colleges here's some thing you've lived through every moment of your life.
As life keeps getting weirder we're making a countdown of the 5 weirdest engineering college rules there to be exist.
5) NO OUTSIDE OR HOME FOOD IS ALLOWED:
Well this rule is debatable. We guess maybe the ones who made up this rule still don't know why they made it.
4) LIMITS ON PHONE CALLS:
It's good being conservative on your phone bill. But this one? There's a place in our state which allows students to just make only one call for 2 minutes per day. Well that'd give them a long time to talk. Once the timer crosses 2 minutes the call would automatically cut. Well bad luck if the person on the other side couldn't hear you speak. You just have one chance. Just one.
3) NO INTER GENDER COMMUNICATION:
Talking with another gender is more punishable than enrolling with the ISIS. Even if she slips from a rooftop and you manage to catch her before she ends up breaking her head, you'd be frowned, scowled, fined and suspended. Some colleges go to an extent where inter gender communication is even prohibited between teachers.
2) DRESS CODES :
Dress codes are something which every college rampages on. Each one competes with the other for the weirdest dress codes. With stuffs starting from hand cuffing your shirts all day to no double collar shirts for men and i shouldn't be commenting stuffs about women, this category has gone worse. You should think how these students would feel sitting in the summer sun with handcuffs on the whole day. Some colleges even make students wear uniforms.
1) CULTURAL DREAMS :
The continual exposure to Tamil cinemas have made all of us believe college culturals are one of a kind experiences. Well it's more like an annual day in many of these colleges.
and a bonus one ...
IF YOU WANT TO DO ANYTHING MORE THAN STUDIES SCORE 8.5+ CGPA:
This includes extra curricular and sports activities to even attending other college symposium or workshops. Even if you get elected to be the President you'd need to score more than 8.5 CGPA to get there successfully without envying the college management.
