This Chennai based photographer was trending on social media for saving a girl from getting gang raped. However, if the cops are to be believed, that may all have been, one big lie. The police, according to a report by NDTV, claim that the photographer was drunk and could not replicate the events during investigation.

I had just finished watching the first showing of superstar Rajinikanth's mega new release, Kabali. On my way home, I heard mourning sounds combined with sounds of resistance... for a few seconds, I thought it was a cat or some kinda animal making out, not longer did i realize it were human.. I tried walking away but instantly heard a faint drugged cry saying bachao.. please help... anna.. anna.. anna..No police case was filed as per her request.. the sad thing was I circled the area for the next half hour and I couldn't find a single cop to even notify of this event.
He had also claimed to have been grievously injured in the process.
But according to a report by NDTV, Paul has neither been able to take the police to the alleged location where the incident took place, nor been able to enact it. In fact the police claim he was highly intoxicated during investigation.
Neither the auto driver nor the woman have been traced.
The police told the TheNewsMinute,
"As far as we are concerned, the case is closed because we are unable to trace the victim or the autorickshaw driver."
Vasanth had been lauded by several people on the net. The original post garnered over 32,000 shares on Facebook. We will continue to update you as the story develops.
