The most popular
instant messaging app 'WhatsApp' will soon allow its users to integrate animated
GIFs into chats.
According to a report in News18.com, WhatsApp is planning to add this
new feature after its rival messaging app 'Viber' recently introduced GIFs
support on its app.
Over 30
improvements and changes to come with the beta release were listed by the
coding website pastebin.
The new features will
include the ability to saved GIFs images to the camera roll, directly replied
to GIFs and encryption support for GIFs sharing and support for peek and pop
feature that comes with 3D Touch, as reported.
It also
includes the support for auto playing GIFs when shared as a link along with the
option to save it even as a simple image.
The beta release (v2.16.7.1) to
WhatsApp for iOS will also include numerous bug fixes and improvements .
These changes haven’t made their way to the full version on the Play
Store, but you can easily join the beta through WhatsApp’s webpage and the Play
Store. The features may not make themselves apparent at first, as a new update
will probably need to be installed, but once done, you’ll be ready to roll.
Isn't this feature
absolutely what we have been waiting for. It will certainly make communication
more interesting, especially for couples who would get to share romantic GIFs!
