The Dark Knight is arguably one of the best batman movies of all time. Many people will say that this is mainly due to the role of the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger. In his final performance Heath immersed himself into this crazy character and some say that it is what ultimately killed him. Here are 12 things that you probably didn’t know about Heath Ledgers role in The Dark Knight.
2. Heath came up with the idea that The Joker should have white make-up on his hands to show that the Joker himself did his own make-up.
3. In the scene where the Joker is dressed as the nurse, his name tag reads ‘Matilda’. Matilda is the name of Heath’s Daughter.
4. The distinctive tongue rolling and mannerisms grew out of Heath Ledgers own habit while playing the role of the Joker.
5. Heath Ledger directed the Joker’s videotaped CGN warnings scenes himself.
6. Heath Ledger designed the Joker’s make-up himself using drug store cosmetics. The make-up team replicated the look so it looked the same in every scene during filming.
