The fast expanding biryani chain restaurant in Chennai is getting more popular among chennaites. The restaurant chain has multiple branches across Chennai with the most famous one being the one in Butt Road near Kathipara. Aasife biryani serves the purpose of foodies who are not comfortable with eating in street side food joints by offering decent ambience and food experience.

3. Siddique Kabab Center, Sholinganallur


Located inside Tecci Park in Sholinganallur, Siddique biryani serves amazing hyderabadi style dum biryani – chicken and mutton (on all Fridays). Though situated inside the tech park, the food court is open for public and all you need to do is write an entry at the guest book near the security gate that you are visiting the food court. Avoid going during lunch hours (1 to 2pm) to avoid the office crowd. Great value for money.

4. Nawab Sheik Biryani – Velachery and OMR


Having branches in Ramapuram, Velachery and OMR, Nawab Sheikh is the latest buzz among biryani fans in Chennai. Having more than 10 different types of biryani in their menu, it would take a bit of time to decide which one to go for. Nevertheless, all the biryani dishes are amazing to taste and their take-away food comes along with Gulaab Jamoon in a neatly packed container. They have recently opened a small outlet in OMR where they would need advance booking over phone to deliver large orders.

AlMaza in Anna Nagar has great ambience, best suited for leisurely lunch or dinner with family. Evenings and weekends can be rush here so advance booking is preferred. Offers decent parking space for car and two-wheeler.

Shahi Moghul biryani is placed right next to Saravana Bhavan in Royapettah road (Near Sathyam Cinemas). If you are looking for affordable biryani with no compromise on taste, then this is the place to be. Could get a little crowded at night as they don’t have a high seating capacity – just a few table and chairs.

7. Bismi Biryani, Nungambakkam


Bismi Biryani in Nungambakkam is well known for its Chicken dum Biryani and bucket biryani. If you are looking to buy biryani for domestic functions or intend to treat your friends, this is the place to be without drilling a hole in your wallet. If you are a beef biryani fan, there aren’t many places in Chennai where you can enjoy decent beef biryani. SukkuBhai biryani located behind Sankara Nethralaya in Alandur road serves amazing beef and mutton biryani. If you are someone who needs air-conditioned room, great service and ambience then better avoid this place.

Situated just near Phoenix Market City in Velachery, Salem RR biryani cannot be left from the recent favourites among biryani lovers in Chennai. Their chain is fast expanding across the city with many other branches in Tambaram, Anna Nagar and Ramapuram. The taste hear may not be consistent across all the centres and does seem to vary depending upon which time of the day you go there. Their biryani is usually spicy and served fresh almost always – even when you go after 10 pm.
